We Noticed the Reading Gap

Many children struggle to read at the level they should, especially in ESL countries like India. To find the answer, we spent months observing classrooms, working with educators, testing readers across age groups, and analysing the gap between what children read and what they actually understand. As per ASER 2024, 73% of grade 3 children cannot read grade 2 text. This is why adaptive reading matters more than ever.

What We Found

Kids weren’t just struggling with ability, they were struggling with clarity.
Assessments felt mismatched — too hard for some, too easy for others, and not precise enough to show a child’s true reading level.
Most tools stopped at “assessment” and never offered a clear plan for growth.
Many parents are struggling with their kids not reading their chosen books.

What We Realised

ESL countries, especially India, needed a homegrown reading assessment system that understands cultural context, vocabulary exposure, and learning realities.
Children needed a structured pathway:
test → right-level reading → measurable progress.
Parents and educators needed a closed-loop system that diagnoses gaps, provides corrective reading materials, and tracks improvement with accuracy.
