The GQ (GroQuotient) Test is a smart reading comprehension test that measures how well a child reads and understands what they read. It goes beyond right or wrong answers. It looks at reading speed, comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency to give a complete reading profile.
It’s designed for different grade levels, so younger learners and advanced readers both get questions suited to their abilities.
The test presents short passages, questions, and fun reading activities. Based on how the child performs, the system calculates a GQ Score that represents their current reading level.
The GQ Score reflects a child’s reading strength in terms of how well they can understand texts of different complexities. It helps identify whether your child needs easier books, is ready for more challenging ones, or is already reading above their grade level.
It usually takes 15–25 minutes, depending on the child’s age and reading pace. It’s short, engaging, and designed to hold their attention throughout.
We recommend taking the test once every 3–4 months to track progress and see how reading skills are improving over time.
Younger children (ages 3–6) may need a little help reading the instructions, but after that, the test is fully self-guided. For older children, no assistance is required.
After completing the test, your child’s GQ Score appears on their dashboard along with personalised reading recommendations. Books from their next GroBox are chosen based on that score.
Yes! You can retake the test anytime to get an updated GQ Score and reading analysis. It’s great for tracking reading growth over time.
Unlike traditional tests, GQ focuses on both the reader and the reading material. It doesn’t just grade comprehension — it analyzes how your child reads and matches them to books that suit their skill level and encourage growth.
Yes. The GQ Test is completely online and can be accessed through the GroBro dashboard. All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet place to focus.
No special preparation is needed. Just ensure your child is relaxed, curious, and ready to enjoy the process of reading. It’s not an exam — it’s an exploration of how they read best.
